Name Drill

This is a Cycling pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 10594)

This is a fun drill to get everyone involved and adding a personalized touch to your class at the same time.

Pick one person and have them pick a tension and a position (ie: hover on level 7). That position becomes the name of the "author" or the person who "invented" it. Hold that for about 20 seconds. In the meantime, go to the next person and have them do the same. Identify that position and tension to the person's name. Hold that for about 20 second. Repeat that until you have about 5 different positions/tension labeled by participants' names. Then spontaneously the instructor (or participants who were not used to design the ride) calls out someone's name and the class has to ride that style.

For example:

      PARTICIPANT POSITION TENSION RIDE NAME

         Frank seated climb 7 Frank
         Karen sprint 6 Karen
         Cheryl hover 8 Cheryl
         Bob piston jog 9 Bob

Now call on other participants to call out someone's name and the whole class has to do that ride.

Have fun!!
