Visualization

This is a Cycling pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 8341)

This isn't a pattern, just something I do in class. I have been teaching cycling for almost 3 years and have found that aside from great coreography and music my class enjoys visualization the most. Focusing on the class instead of myself enables me to add great details like wind (we have a lot in Wyoming), adding resistence to account for the wind even if the road is flat, describing in detail someplace either made up or where I've been or ridden. There's a place near the Big Horns with red dirt and juniper trees--great visualization possibilities. I'll throw things in like a herd of cows crossing the road, sprinting ahead before a Basque sheepherder brings the sheep down--all sorts of stuff. Having participated in classes where we just rode and rode and rode I try to create as much mental atmosphere as possible. It's fun and creates diversitysince I try making rides as realistic as possible (within the confines of a stationary bike!)

Thanks for all the great ideas. I felt it was time to add my own. Hope someone out there gets good use of it.
