Deanna's Tapless Advanced "L"
This is a
Double Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 8446)
The benches are set up in a backwards L with one in front of
you called home and the other to your right called away
Counts are in parentheses
R=right leg LL=left leg
I will use compass directions to help, so N=North, S=south etc.
Block 1.
Start facing N in the inside of the L
- Right chug on the step (1-2)
- Right mombo on far side of bench (3-4)
- Step right kick left leg straddle landing left leg, right
facing E (5-8)
- Double knee repeater right knee tap right toe on ground
on beat 5 and use beat 6 to take you over the bench (8)
- Over the top H facing W (1-4)
- V-step with one foot on the H bench and one A (5-8)
- Over the top A facing S (1-4)
- V-step on the outside of the benches one A and
one H (5-8)
- Now you are on the outside of the L
- Right curb walk on H hopping on beats 7,8 so you can change
feet (8 beats)
- Left lead curb walk on A hopping on beats 7,8 to change
feet
- L-step corner to corner
Reverse block 1. The trick is that you are now on the outside
of the L. So there are small changes. The repeater brings you to
the inside of the L. The first over the top is on the H bench
facing W as before, but it brings you back to the outside of
the L. First V-step is on the outside of the left. Second over
the top is facing S on the A bench. The second V-step is in the
inside of the step. Finish the rest on the same steps as before,
but in the inside of the left
Block 2.
- Step right kick left lead on the H bench (1-4)
- Over the top A facing S (5-8)
- Step left lead kick right on the outside of the
A bench (1-4)
- Waltz around the A bench (5-8)
- Broadway knees on H (1-8) (Definition of broadway
knee--step right double knee lift left lead (1-4) step
off the bench left lead (5) lift right (6) rock step
(7,8)) This repeater does not cause you to change
leads.
- Repeater knee lifting left lead on H
- Boomerang on H (Definition of boomerang--I am going to
write this as a left lead because that is where you will
be. Face East step up left lead (1), step up right (2),
lunge left lead (3), left lead back to bench (4), off the
bench right left lead on beats 5,6. Face W and do the same
thing with the right lead. This brings you to 12 beats.
Finish with a basic.)
- Boomerang on A
Reverse the block
Block 3.
- Step right lift knee left lead on H (1-4)
- J hook A facing S. (5-8, 1-4) (Definition of J hook--Step
left lead (1) kick right (2) straddle down right,
left lead (3-4), straddle up right, left lead (5-6), off
the bench to the inside of the L (7,8))
- Step right lift knee left lead on A (5-8)
- Weave on A facing S (1-4)
- Over the top on A facing S (5-8)
- Weave on H facing W (1-4)
- Over the top on H facing W (5-8)
Reverse the block
I'll be honest, I haven't taught this one yet, so I haven't
worked out the kinks!!
Feel free to email me with any questions. I'd also like to
hear what you think about the combos and how they worked
for you!!
