Tough Tapless Double Step
This is a
Double Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 8538)
Hi everyone! This is my first submission to this site. I've
taght double step for three years, but only recently have been
doing it tapless. This combo should take 40-45 minutes to get
through. Have fun!
Format: L step. Bob in front, Sue on the side-spaced 1
foot from each other:

Combo A (Warm-up):
- Basic right on Bob
- V-step on Sue and Bob in the corner (4)
- Basic right on Sue, face right wall (4)
- Single knee lift-lead right (4)
- Around the world (single knee lifts around the
step, ie.. start facing back of room, lead left. Step
knee straddle, step knee turn and face front of room,
step knee straddle, step knee turn and face Sue)
(16) Now you are ready to repeat combo leading left
starting on Sue!
Combo B:
Start on Bob:
- Funky basic lead right (8): step up right and left (2),
tap side to side 3 times fast on top of step, right,
left, right, (3-5), pop right knee up (6), step off step
right and left (7-8).
- 1/2 L-step on left side of Bob (4)
- Across top of Bob (4)
- Across top of Sue, face right wall (4)
- Face Sue at skinny side-step knee straddle (lead
right) (4)
- Step hamcurl -lead left, exit right side of bench and
face Sue toward left side of room. (4)
- Hop pivot turn to face Sue and right side of room
(lead right) (4)
- Repeat, lead left.
Combo C:
- On Bob: Shuffle turnstep, lead right (4)
- Step hop knee over the top, lead left (step up
onto step (1), hop over the top with right leg behind
body (like a ham curl), exit the other side, right then
left foot (2-4).
- Stomp or curb walk forward on Bob, towards Sue (4)
- Across Sue (face right wall, lead right) (4)
- Face skinny side of Sue, repeater (lead right)(8)
- Indecision lunge left and right, exit left to face Sue
(step up onto step left and right (2), lunge left (2),
lunge right (2) exit left (2))
- Repeat lead left
Combo D:
- On Bob: Knee-side-hamstring repeater on left corner of
Bob (8)
- Travel to right corner of Sue (face back of room)
hamstring repeater around the corner of Sue to face rear
of room (8)
- Kick in back corner of Sue (4)
- Face front of the room (you are on right side of Sue),
go over the top (4)
- V-step left on Bob (4)
- V-step left on Sue (4)
- Repeat lead left
Combo E:
Start on left side of Sue facing front
of room (side approach)
- Shuffle straddle 2x's: right leg stomps top of step, left
leg stomps floor, right leg stomps step again-this is like
a cha-cha (count 1-2-3 fast), then straddle the step left
and right (2).
- Repeat this move leading left. (8 counts total)
- Skate on Sue and Bob, step down and jack ((face inside
corner, step up on Sue and curl left leg- lead
right (2), place left leg on Bob and curl right leg
(2), step off benches right and left (2), jack on
floor (2).
- On Bob, face right wall (side approach)-stomp, straddle
two times at double time tempo (fast!) (4)
- Step up onto Bob with left foot and lift right knee and
exit right side of Bob
- Repeat on Sue, lead right (8)
- Repeat combo on Bob leading left
Combo F:
Start on Bob lead right:
- 2 Power turnsteps, (step up onto step with right leg,
extend left leg behind and travel to left end of bench,
step down onto floor left then right-repeat leading
left (8)
- Reverse V-step (face left side of room- side approach,
step up right then left to face back of room, step off
front of step right then left to face right wall (almost
like a revolving door) (4)
- Take a hike (side approach facing right wall- step up
right and left (2 counts), immediately step onto Sue,
right and left to be on Sue facing right wall (2
counts)
- Go across Sue to exit off right side of bench (2), go
across Sue to left (4), come up to center of Sue (2)
- Lunge off back of Sue right and left (4), step off bench
right and left(2), jack (2)
