Corkscrew

This is a Step pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 9407)

This is a 16 count pattern!

Definitely challenging, but fun to teach, and the participants are so pleased when they get it! I make up all my own moves, so the names are a little weird, but I try to name them so that the name 'kinda' represents the move(...do a couple corkscrews and you will see)! When I introduce this in a class (even to participants who have seen it before) I show them twice at tempo, then do it twice at 1/2 time and that really helps!

Corkscrew:

Now, I usually mix this with a simple 16 count leading left that will bring me back to the same position so I can corkscrew on the left lead. For example, I will add a HALF MOON (again the name indicates that you are forming a half moon...try it):

Then I start with the CORKSCREW on the left!
I hope this is clear! Have fun with it! And remember...have fun with this stuff, most of my best moves come from screw-ups in practice, this one sure did!
