Upper Body Drills

This is a Cycling pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 9539)

Use a song with a good beat for a standing climb, i.e. "Legs" by ZZ Top. From the standing climb position start with a moderate gear of about 50 - 60% and do upper body "push-ups" in sets of 8 count, 4 count and 2 count. After the first set, gear up to 60 - 70% and repeat. After the second set change your hand positions on the handle bars to that your knuckles are facing each other and your elbows are out so that you are working you chest muscles and repeat as before in sets of 8 count, 4 count and 2 count. Do this for the entire song. It's a lot of fun and is great for upper body conditioning. You can add sets and increase resistance according to your students' abilities.

Thanks for all of your suggestions!
