Pivots Plus (Sonia's #7)

This is a Step pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 9001)

Horizontal step, 32 count, self-reversing.

Combo 1

Repeat with a left lead or go to combo 2.

Combo 2

Repeat with a left lead or go to combo 3.

Combo 3

Repeat with a left lead or go to combo 4.

Combo 4

Repeat with a left lead or go to combo 5.

Combo 5

Repeat with a left lead or go back to combo 1.

In combination 1 you can move along the step on the knee lifts to get in position for the L-step. Try doing the 3 glutes as 1 in the center of the step and then 1 to each corner (traveling).

The pivots in combinations 2 and 5 begin as 1/2 mambos, so you pivot away by pushing off the step.

In combination 3 the 1/4 pivot forward takes you to the narrow end with your lead side to the step.

In combination 4 keep the mambos at the same corner. For a fun option do it as a 1/2 mambo cha cha cha, turning away from the step with the chas. Then 1/2 mambo cha cha cha, turning back to the step on the chas.


*1 Tire March: With the step between your feet vertically, march forward like you are stepping in tires.

*2 Stomp Mambo: With your side to the step; stomp, straddle, stomp, and mambo back. The left foot just keeps time like in any stomp or chug move while the right foot does the work.

*3 Walk-away Joe: In this combination the Joe starts on the front/north side near the corner: (1,2) walk diagonally on the step left and right, (3,4) keep walking left and right diagonally on the floor, (5,6) step forward left and pivot 180, (7,8) walk back toward the step left and right.

*4 Flamingo: (1) step right (2) knee lift left (3,4) straddle down left and right, (5 - 8) up left, up right, exit left and right.
