Up and over!

This is a Cycling pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 10506)

Usually in a class, the cyclists end on the toughest part of the hill and then immediately go back to zero tension. I like to mix it up once in a while by climbing up a hill increasing tension every 30 seconds until they are at 100 percent. The class knows that when the song ends, then they can reset the tension to zero. Well, surprise! I have them go one step higher in the resistance and then have them start releasing the tension in 30 second increments. It gives the hill a little more of a challenge and it's not the "same old hill". Also, as the hill is getting easier, I start having them increase the cadence.

If you have access to a laptop computer, try hooking it up to the soundboard via the headphone jacks. I have all of my music in a MP3 format and can mix up the songs at a touch of the button. This also gives you more feedback like: How many more seconds to the end of the song and what is the next song.
