Having a Ball !!!!!!

This is a Ball pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 10260)

For those of you looking for more ways to use the ball, here are some of the things I do with my classes (or TO them according to their interpretation)!

Since our gym doesn't have balls, we use the kids balls like you can buy in the grocery store for about a dollar. Have your class lay on their backs with their knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Place the ball in the "meat" of the inner thighs. In other words not between the knees cause that's where their power is. Put it up as high as they can. Now have them squeeze and release...first nice and slow, then with regular pulses, then hold, then double time pulses....Can you feel the burn??? OOOOWWWWWW!!!!! You can use whatever count you want and for as long as you want. I generally gauge how long to go by the moans and groans I hear....And if you're doing it right along with them, trust me that you, too, will feel the burn!!!

Another thing to do is again lying on the floor in a sit up position, tuck the ball behind the knees. Then you can do your entire situp workout with the feet either on the floor or bent up in the air. The key to the whole thing is that keeping the ball behind the knees forces them to keep their bodies in the best position to get the most results from their abs workout. oooooo it hurts!!! You can also have them do their abs on an incline bench with the ball. Half the workout is with the head on the high side and the 2nd half with the head on the low side. Wowie!!
