Seniors' Low Impact 2
This is a
[Other] pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 11406)
- 8 March on spot with "pump it up" arms (16 counts) (two
pulses up, two pulses down)
- 8 Alternating side toe taps (small side lunges) (16 counts)
- 8 March on spot with "pump it up" arms (16 counts)
- 8 Alternating heels forward (16 counts)
- 8 Grapevine with clap (right and left) (32 counts)
- 8 Alternating small kicks to side (16 counts) (give the
option of kicks to the front)
- 8 Alternating toe taps behind (16 counts)
- 8 Alternating knees up on the spot (16 counts)
- 4 Alternating knees up travel forward (8 counts)
- 4 Alternating knees up travel backward (8 counts)
- 8 Alternating hamstring curls on the spot (16 counts)
- 4 Alternating hamstring curls forward (8 counts)
- 4 Alternating hamstring curls backward (8 counts)
- 4 "Scoops" right (4 step touch with "digging dirt"
arms) (8 counts)
- 4 "Twists" on spot (we don't really twist...it is a side
to side movement with the hips...like a modified pony)
(8 counts)
- 4 "Scoops" left (8 counts)
- 4 "Twists" on spot (8 counts)
- 4 "Scoops" left (again) (8 counts)
- 4 "Twists" on spot (8 counts)
- 4 "Scoops" right (8 counts)
- 4 "Twists" on spot (8 counts)
- 8 1,2,3 Knee up (or tap) forward and back (32 counts)
- 8 Alternating step touch with a snap (16 counts)
- 4 Alternating "squats" right and left (16 counts) (these
do not have to be a squat...a slow step sideways
is good)
I have not given a lot of ideas about arms. I find that
everyone is different and that some arms that would feel
natural to me, are actually difficult for others. So, I leave
the arm patterns up to you. If you would like to know what
arms I use, please feel free to email me.
With the "pump it up" arms, I give the option of overhead or
shoulder height for my classes. I actually call this move
"pump it up" instead of trying to say "march with pumping
arms" etc. I find my senior's love when I 'name' moves...they
actually remember what is coming next more easily (as with
general population exercisers as well).
