Noodle Triathlon

This is an Aquatic pattern from (pattern 11425)

I warm up the class by doing some jogging and stretching...

The first part of the "triathlon" is swimming. Hanging on to a noodle in front of you, "swim" with just your legs kicking. I start out with a few laps of flutter kicks then frog kicks.

For the "biking" part of the triathlon, we ride the noodles. Straddle the noodle like a bike, make sure more of the noodle sticks up behind you than in front of you. I have the class show me their hands so they are using their legs to "pedal" only. We do this for a few laps.

For the "run" we run back and forth across the pool. (our pool is shallow, so we can run the full distance)

After this I usually add one more "swim." We come to the shallow end and sit in a squat position. First we do the arm motions for the basic front crawl. After a couple minutes, we do the arm motions for breaststroke. Their legs get so tired from the triathlon, they are usually whining to do some arms, this quiets the whining very quickly!
