Freeze Crunch

This is an Abs pattern from (pattern 11448)

I teach a 45 minute, yes, 45 minute Abs class. I came up with this little "game" at the last minute before a recent class. We did this as the last ab "cycle", and were well fried by the end.

How you play Freeze Crunch is pretty easy. You do a basic crunch, but very slowly...about 5 counts up and 5 counts down. Do this for as long as you like. Then call out "Freeze!" Class must hold wherever they are in the crunch until you say "thaw" or "summer" or "go"--whatever is your style. They must continue the crunch from where they were "frozen", whether headed up or down. (They all hated me a lot, 'cause I was having a lot of fun with it!) The combinations are just about endless with this game, and though we did just a basic crunch, you could do twists, reverses, knee-ups, on the ball, whatever you'd like.
