Challenge your class for the New Year!
This is a
Hi/Lo pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 12560)
This pattern works best when you have lots of room to move
about. I like using lots of space with big movements to
challenge that heart rate (and our creativity!). You can modify
for a smaller space by doing the traveling patterns in place.
Combo 1: 32 counts, right lead.
- Grapevine right, turn to face right wall and grapevine
left (8 counts)
- Face back wall and skip right, left, right (6 counts);
last 2 counts are a mambo back with the left foot which
turns you to face the right wall.
- Mambo front, left lead, (2 counts) turn to face left wall
and cha-cha left, right (4 counts), run left, right (2
counts)
- Mambo left, cha cha to face right wall again (4 counts),
grapevine right, turning to face the front (4 counts)
Combo 2: 32 counts, left lead
- Scoop forward left, right, shuffle 4 left to the diagonal
left corner (8 counts)
- Scoop forward right, left, shuffle 4 right to right
diagonal corner (8 counts)
- Step knee left, right (4 counts)
- Step double knee, tapping behind and turning you to back
wall (4 counts)
- (facing back) Step knee right, left (4 counts)
- Step double knee, tapping back and turning to the front
wall (4 counts)
Repeat combos 1 and 2 left lead
Combo 3: 32 counts, right lead
- Mambo front, back (4 counts), step left and lift the knee
(5,6) march left (7,8)
- Face left and travel cha-cha left, right, left, right (8
counts)
- Run in a 3/4 circle towards the back wall (face left) and
then to the front (8 counts)
- Facing front hustle up and back (8 counts)
Combo 4: 32 counts left lead
- Hustle up (4 counts)
- Slow squat out with right leg (5,6) and bring left leg
next to right (7,8)
- Same squat pattern left lead but facing left wall (1,2,3,4)
- Same squat pattern right lead facing back wall (5,6,7,8)
Repeat pattern to back wall which will eventually bring you
back to the front to repeat combos 3 and 4 on your left
lead. (16 counts)
I hope this makes sense- email me and I will clear up any
misunderstandings. This is my 21st year teaching aerobics so
sometimes I get a little choreographically crazy!
