Lets Go Back To Highschool

At the beginning of class, I usually say ok folks we are
going back to high school when we used to play all kinds of
sports. This is an interval class. I start with BASKETBALL- The
low impact part is pretend like you are in a basketball court
and you are running down the field. Your arms are dribbling the
ball in the water. Do that for 30 seconds. The high impact part
is pretend like the ball is in your hand and you are shooting
for a basket up out of the water. Do this for 30 seconds.
- NEXT
- FOOTBALL- The low impact part is running in place. Do this
for 30 seconds. The high impact part is pretend like you
are running for a touchdown with the football in your arm.
Run just as fast as you can for 30 seconds.
- NEXT
- SOCCER- The low impact part is small kicks forward like
you are kicking a soccer ball. Do this for 30 seconds. The
high impact part is pretending like you are the goalie
and you are blocking the ball with you head. You are
jumping up out of the water doing this. Do this for 30
seconds.
- NEXT
- HIGHSTEPPER- The low impact is low kicks for 30 seconds.
Pretend like you are on the kickline in high school. The
high impact part is high kicks in the water. Try to get
them to show you there toes when kicking. That way their
kicks will be high enough to get there heart rates up. Do
this for 30 seconds.
- NEXT
- CHEERLEADING- The low impact part is jumping jacks in the
water. Do this for 30 seconds. The high impact part is
pretend like you are a cheerleader jumping up out of the
water doing a spread eagle. Do this for 30 seconds. To
make this class fun. You can have them yell out a cheer
while doing their spread eagles. Such as, Y_M_C_A.
