Miner Adjustment 1
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 10914)
A 64-count, self-reversing combination or two 32-count
combinations.
You can break down the combination as a linear or non-linear
progression (i.e. lead your class through all 9 steps with each
additional step as an add-on or teach steps 1-3 right/left
leads and then steps 5-9 right/left leads; place all nine steps
together at the end).
- 1. Turnstep (3 times; 12 counts): You should be facing
east when finished.
- 2. Pivot (1 time; 4 counts): You may substitute a mambo
step if you prefer.
- 3. Up; lunge alternate; exit (2 times; 16 counts): Left
foot up on bench; right foot up on bench; left leg lunge;
right leg lunge; left foot exit; right foot exit.
- 4. Diagonal (1 time; 4 counts)
- 5. Step; pivot; step (1 time ; 4 counts): Move is executed
on the floor with a step touch right lead, pivot, step
touch left lead. This will take you from facing east on
the north side of your bench to facing west on the south
side of your bench. I have also heard it referred to as a
"hinge step".
- 6. Diagonal (1 time; 4 counts)
- 7. Step; pivot; step (1 time ; 4 counts): Move is executed
on the floor with a step touch left lead, pivot, step
touch right lead. This will take you from facing west on
the north side of your bench to facing east on the south
side of your bench. I have also heard it referred to as a
"hinge step".
- 8. Step knee; step knee; down jack (2 times; 16 counts).
Step up on the bench with your left foot; right knee lift;
right foot lands on bench; left knee lift; left foot to
floor; right foot to floor; jack on floor. This movement
causes you to travel from one end of the bench to the
other (i.e. like a turnstep except you do two knee lifts
on the bench).
- 9. Step knee; step knee; down jack (2 times; 16 counts).
Step up on the bench with your right foot; left knee lift;
left foot lands on bench; right knee lift; right foot to
floor; left foot to floor; jack on floor. This movement
causes you to travel from one end of the bench to the
other (i.e. like a turnstep except you do two knee lifts
on the bench).
- 10. Repeat combination from the top.
