Musical Chairs

This is an Aquatic pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 10935)

It can be a challenge teaching the same class week after week. My class gets used to the way I teach and the moves I use. That's why I love Turnstep. I get ideas here that add variety and fun to my classes. Here's a simple thing my supervisor suggested to me recently.

I led everyone through a regular set of exercises, but during the acitve rest period (we were doing rocking horses), I had everyone move to a new position in the pool. Some went deeper, some more shallow, some moved forward and others moved to the back of the class. Then we did our next set in this new position. We moved around again between sets (using rocking horse) for the rest of the class.

It was amazing how this simple change (a new position in the pool for everyone) made a difference in how they were able to maintain their heart rate in their target zone.

Thanks for all the great ideas!!
