Bring Deep into Shallow - Suspended Dumbbell Moves

Bring deep to shallow and increase your variety of moves! These moves are all completed with a set of dumbbells suspended at hips, under the water with lengthened arms, but not locked elbows. It also makes the participants warmer if you tend to have a cooler pool, with shoulders suspended. Added bonus: works on the core and balance.

These moves can be challenging for those who have balancing problems. If you have an elderly participant who does not have the strength to totally suspend in a held position, have them bend elbows and raise arms laterally with dumbbells closer to water surface. These moves can also be done with the noodle in horse style (riding the noodle) or swing (sitting on like a swing, hanging onto ends of noodles, pushing noodle up or down for adjusting balance).
