Ab Distraction

This is an Abs pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 11755)

You will need one riser from a step bench. This is your "distraction," it takes their mind off the burn.

Start from a supine position with hips & knees at 90*, so feet are in the air. Or, you could have them place their feet on a wall, if one is available. Since I don't have a wall, I cue them to pretend their feet are glued to a wall and cannot move.

Place the riser on your shins.

Pick it up!

Reach it overhead!

Put it back!

Reach overhead with empty hands!

That's one rep.

It's different, and it encourages a fuller range of motion than they might otherwise work through.
