Aqua In The Country Part Two

This is an Aquatic pattern from (pattern 11274)

Try to get your hands on some good old rock and roll music. Get your class to partner up. One person faces shallow end and one faces deep end, link arms and start spinning around. You can change directions a few times, and also change what the spare arm does, e.g. cowboy whip. After a couple of direction changes, change partners. Do this a few times.

Next move is the Can Can. Still with the same partners, get the can can going. Knee kick, knee kick, etc. Once they've got it in pairs add two or three groups together and keep can canning. See how many people you can get in one group just for fun.

Then get all participants to hold hands in a circle and start side stepping around. You can change direction a few times or change the side step to a jog or anything you can think of. I got my group to jog and then I numbered them into 1's and 2's if you have a larger group add 3's and 4's. 1's kept running while 2's lifted their feet off the ground and enjoyed the ride. Then swap them over.

This is not an exhaustive workout but it is good fun, emphasise talking and singing - this is where the good old rock and roll music comes in. It could be put in the middle or end of a class where they have worked quite hard.
