Lunge/Hinge combo

This is an Aquatic pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 12392)

This is really good for raising the heart rate but take it at a slower beat to get the best benefit of the water. This is called a "Lunge/hinge kick combo." Hope you like it as much as my classes LOVE it.

First begin with kicking forward with the backs straight then go to lunging back (alternating) to introduce the move then add on a lunge/hinge kick on the left leg for 16 count, pushing the water with the arms going opposite of the legs, then kick & touch the toes (alternating) for 8 count, then kick with clapping hands under the legs getting toes out of the water. Repeat on right leg. Very good for middle of your class.

The reason for the hinge kick is so they don't pull the leg all the way through the water straight remind them to keep the leg bent & knee does not pass the toes on the lunge back.

Have fun, this is one of my favorites that I came up with.
