Upside down step
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 12230)
This step pattern is slightly different because you start
the whole thing from the top of the step - feels a little
strange to start with, but adds variety.
So a basic step would be down, down, up, up
A knee lift would be down, down, up and knee
Here goes:
Combo 1
- (1-8) Step down right and left, 2 jacks, step up right
and left
- (9-16) Repeat stepping down off the back of the step so
jacks are facing back, turn back to the front as you step
up
- (17-24) Hamstring curl x2 (remember to step down first)
- (25-32) Rocking horse (so you will finish with the
left knee lifted)
Repeat other side
Combo 2
- (1-8) Step down right and left, toe taps on step right and
left (travel these over the step if you like), step up
right and left
- (9-12) Kick to corner (step down first)
- (13-16) Turning walk to finish at the short end of step
(on the right) facing front
- (17-24) Chasse x2 (on the floor or across the step
lengthways)
- (25-28) Double outer thigh (option: (17) jump up so the
left foot is on the step and right leg lifted to the
side, (19) jump onto the right foot with left lifted to
the side, (20) jump onto left foot again with right
lifted
- (29-30) 3 Quick runs on the floor
- (31-32) Step up left, right
Repeat other side
Combo 3
- (1-8) Step down right and left, mambo (option: pivot turn),
step up right and left (to face left side)
- (9-16) Double side lunge, single lunge x2
- (17-32) Inner thigh repeater x2
Repeat other side
Combo 4
- (1-4) Knee lift
- (5-12) Basic step x2 (option: turn the 1st one)
- (13-18) 6 Count crab*
- (19-24) Lunge backwards x3
- (25-28) 2 Kicks on top of step right and left
- (29-32) Step down right and left, step up and kick
Repeat other side
Combo 5
- (1-10) 4 Count repeater (let class choose what sort they
want to do)
- (11-20) Repeat last line
- (21-32) Knee x3
Repeat other side
