Warm up for Upside down step
This is a
Warmup pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 12231)
This is the warm up pattern I use for my Upside down step
routine.
If you haven't seen it, the whole class is done starting
from the top of the step, so this warm up is used to get them
used to this idea. However, the warm up does start on the
floor.
- (1-8) March on the floor x4, side tap right and left
- (9-16) March on the step x4, kick right and left (still
on the step)
- (17-32) Hamstring curl x4 (so you step down, down, up
and curl)
- (1-8) Repeater hamstring curl (finish on the step with
left leg in a curl)
- (9-16) Basic step x2 (down, down, up, up)
- (17-32) Step down left and right, 6 toe taps on the step
and step up left and right (option: the first 4 toe taps
you can take over the step and back again turning in a
complete circle - this prepares them for one of the moves
in the Upside down step routine!)
Repeat the whole thing on the other side
This warm up is the finished product and needs to be broken
down - do lots of basic steps and hamstring curls starting from
the top of the step until the class get used to it.
