Beach Ball Bounce

This is an Aquatic pattern from (pattern 12262)

This exercise works great as a filler or to transition to something else. My classes are extremely varied in age since I teach at a university - they range from 18 to 70.

This works best with groups of at least 10, and I have had up to 25. I have all participants group together in the middle of the pool, then have them jump up and down with hands in the air. Remember to have soft knees as you land. Now comes the fun - I throw in three large beach balls and have them hit the balls as they are bouncing. They try to keep the balls going and not let the balls go out of the pool. We usually go about 2-3 minutes each time, and do it about 3 times througout the class. It really keeps their heart rates up and they absolutely love it.
