Cycling Hill Attacks

This is a Cycling pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 13438)

Intermediate / advance drill

Resistance: moderate to intense. They should feel that they are climb a 16 percent grade. Very tough

Seated climb, climb for 50 seconds the last 10 seconds jump out of the saddle in a standing climb for 10 seconds. Try to keep their climbing cadence 90 rpm minimum. but when you attack increase your cadence but not the resistance. The drill will last the entirety of a song, I usually use a 6 minute song. You can do 2 attacks for the length of the song or 10 attacks, it depends on the participants, the attacks will only last 10 seconds.

Participants love it, I try to give them a scenario, have them feel they are in a group setting on hill and you are the leader of the group when you attack they attack. Little competition, but they compete with you not each other
