Heel walking

This is an Aquatic pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 13499)

After the warm-up and stretch (maybe after a few jogs to really warm the legs) I have the participants to raise their toes off the floor and walk on their heels. We start out to every other beat of the music and after about 16 we speed it up to the beat. After about 32 counts, we tap the toes for 32. Then we change foot position to turning the toes to the inside, then tap... then outside and then tap... then lowering down in the water and tapping toes facing straight. We then do a lower leg stretch before we continue into the cardio segment. This really makes that tibialis anterior burn. We really do not work that muscle a lot so this can be great for seniors with weak legs! Thanks for reading... ENJOY, DAWN
