Great, Upbeat Step Moves
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 13520)
- Start by facing the front and step up on to the bench with your right foot, then left,
and walk over the front of your bench (I call it a right forward over).(4)
- Do one grapevine to your right (remember to stay close to your bench for the next move)(4)
- You are still facing the front, you then step onto the end of the bench with your left foot (foot closest to the bench) and do one knee straddle (right knee comes up, then straddle the bench). Once you straddle the bench jump up onto the bench with both feet and do a double bounch and exit to the left
(I cue it by saying double bounce exit back or rear) (8)
- Do one quarter turn to face the front (step up onto bench with right foot). Next do a little turnstep off the end of
the bench after you have finished your 1/4 turn (I have my class face the back of the room when they are done to go into the next move)
- Last step up onto the bench with your left foot and do a reverse quarter turn into a straddle. Then do another double bounce and exit to your left. (8)
To reverse it to the other side after they exit I have them tap corner corner (Right, Left) on the last tap I have them stay on that side and then cue them to do Left forward over and you are then ready to reverse the pattern to the other side!
All done...to break it down I sometimes teach the beginning part up until the knee straddle until the class catches on...if the finial combo has a odd number (like 1 turnstep) I will do 3-5 of those on the breakdown to get them used to the new moves. Please feel free to email me for any questions :)...have fun!!
