a little choreography

This is a BoxAerobics pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 13543)

I just got some new music, so of course I had to come up with some new moves. These are a lot of fun, but they are not for beginners because there is to much choreography.

You have to break it down!

First: horsestance to the front

Do about 12 sets then cue that on the next time through they are going to change that side kick into a roundhouse and rotate it quarter turn so that they end up in a left foot forward stance!

Ok now they are going to do double punches, 2 quick left jabs 2 quick left cross punches for 32 counts

Now change it to a left jab, right cross, left jab clap for 32 counts

Now alternate double left jabs double right cross, right jab left cross right jab clap
Do this for 64 counts so that they really have it down.

Ok that clap is going to turn into left knee and that left knee is going to rotate back so that you end back up in a horsestance. NOW, cross punch to the back starting with the right hand (with alternating toe taps like you did at the beginning)
After 4 cross punches moving back cue them to just keep cross punching in place with those toe taps.

OK now we are going to go back to the top!
You ready-
3 front kicks moving forward, right front, left front, right front
1 Roundhouse with a quarter turn to the mirror
Double punches=2 left jabs, 2 right cross
Jab, cross, jab, right knee rotate back (I say take it to the back!)
4 Alternating cross punches moving back with toe taps (start with the right hand)
NOW 8 quick hops

Do this pattern 3 or 4 times.

The last part of this is optional, if you think it is to much choreography you can stay with those 8 hops, otherwise teach them this after you have done the pattern above at least 3 or 4 times.

Last part: 2 quick cross punch right & left, 2 quick uppercut right & left, 4 hops
This is only a total of 8 counts and it will be substiuted for those 8 hops that you were doing at the end.

*This is kind of complicated but if you break it down and cue it right your class will get it without any problems. Once I do it with the front kick starting on the right, I then take a brain break and start all over again with the front kick starting on the left so that everything will be reversed! *For an in between brain break it goes smoothly to take it to a right leg knee & front kick then a left leg knee & front kick. I do it low impact, then I take it high impact with added bounces. On the high impact you end up looking like those dancing girls they used to show on old westerns! I do 8 low, 8 high, 8 low, 8 high, 4 low, 8 high, 4 low 4 high. Then you can take a water break if you want, or you can go right back to the top of this pattern and start it all over with that other side!
