Vertical Challenge
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 12778)
Step is vertical - start on the left side of the step with
a right lead.
Combo 1
- (1-8) Charleston x2
- (9-12) Chasse x2 round the step
- (13-16) Hamstring curl
- (17-26) Over and rock back* x2
- (27-32) Cha cha pivot**
Repeat other side
Combo 2
- (1-16) Repeater hamstring curl and straddle x2 (option:
figure of 8)
- (17-24) Knee lift and basic step (option: reverse V)
- (25-32) Over the top and 2 jacks
Repeat other side
Combo 3
- (1-8) Inner thigh switch*** x2
- (9-14) Double inner thigh lift and straddle
- (15-16) 1/2 Mambo (option: power mambo) on right side
of step
- (17-28) Step up, knee lift, alternate side lunge x4 and
exit [****see below for high intensity alternative)
- (29-32) Turn to the back wall and kick (on the floor) and
return to the step
Repeat other side
Combo 4
- (1-16) Outer thigh lift x4 (option: round the world)
- (17-20) Squat x2 with right foot on step - finish on top
of the step
- (21-24) Squat x2 with left foot on step - finish on top
of the step
- (25-32) Squat x3 with right foot on step - add a knee
switch after last squat
Repeat other side
Combo 5
- (1-24) Over the top and gluteal lift x3
- (25-32) Basic step x2 (option: fast step ups x4)
Repeat other side
*Over and rock back - (1) left foot on step, (2) right foot
on step, (3) left foot on floor, (4-5) reverse mambo on floor,
(6-10) repeat other side
**Cha cha pivot - (1&2) cha cha cha with left foot on step,
right on floor, (3) step right foot on floor turning to face
the back, (4&5) cha cha cha on the floor facing the back, (6)
step left foot on floor turning to face the front
***Inner thigh switch - (1) right foot on step, (2) inner
thigh lift left, (3) step left foot down on right side of
step, (4) step right foot down next to left, (5-8) repeat
other side
****High intensity option - (1) Step up left, (2) lift right
knee, (3) tap right foot on floor, (4) jump over so that left
foot is on floor and right on step, (5-9) jump over 5 more
times - you should be the same side you started, (10) lift
right knee, (11-12) exit
