March Madness (Sonia's #32)

This is a Step pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 12888)

Intermediate to advanced level. Horizontal step. 32 count, tapless, self-reversing combos. Choreography follows. Email questions!

Combo 1

Repeat with a left lead or go to combo 2.

Combo 2

Repeat with a left lead or go to combo 3.

Combo 3

Repeat with a left lead or go to combo 4.

Combo 4

Repeat with a left lead or go to combo 5.

Combo 5

Repeat with a left lead or go to combo 1.

Choreography Combo 1:
V-swoop: (1,2) up wide right/left, (3) right foot crosses behind left to the floor, (4) left foot steps to floor next to right, (5) right foot crosses in front of the left to the floor as the left foot lifts slightly, (6) left foot to floor as right lifts slightly, (7 & 8) cha cha cha right/left/right moving to home position.

Choreography Combo 2:
Jazzy L: (1) right steps up at left end, (2) left knee lifts, (3) left foot to floor at narrow end, (4) on the floor the right foot crosses in front of left, (5) left steps back, (6) right steps back.

This move ends on a left lead. You can do any 2 count move you want that will put you back on the right lead - Cha cha cha, jumping jack, or hops will all work. Just stay at the end of the step.

Choreography Combo 3:
Turnstep pause: (1,2) up as for a turnstep, (3) pull the left foot from the step at the same time the right foot steps to the floor, (4) pause with a lifted foot.

Squats with flick kicks: your left side is to the step when combo is started with a right lead, so...(1) left foot to step into a squat, (2) lifting from the squat, pull the left foot from the step and transfer your weight to your right foot, (3,4) give two quick little flicks of the raised foot. It is like you have gunk on your shoe that you are trying to flick off! Great for balance!

Choreography Combo 4:
Walk-away Joe: (1,2) walk diagonally on the step right and left, (3,4) keep walking diagonally on the floor away from the step, (5,6) right steps forward, pivot left 180 degrees, (7,8) walk back to the step right and left. You end on the front with your right side to the step.

Choreography Combo 5:
1/2 mambo to the side: (1) on the floor - right steps to the side as left foot lifts slightly, (2) left foot to floor as right lifts slightly, (3 & 4) cha cha cha right/left/right to change your lead.

L-steps with kicks: (1) right steps up at left end, (2) lift the left knee kicking the foot forward, (3) left foot to floor at end, (4) lift the right leg with a slightly bent knee in a kick to the side, (5) right foot to step, (6) same as count 2, (7,8) exit left and right. The kicks are kickboxing moves. Repeat at the other end.
