Let the Participants Decide

This is a Cycling pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 12892)

I've enjoyed this site for several years, and have never contibuted! I feel so guilty, so here's my first attempt.

Choose a participant in your class to call out a position/intensity/idea for the next portion of the class. Tell them to be as specific as they'd like to be. This allows the somewhat new participants to be vague (for ex: "Seated Climb!") This is where you add the remainder of the instructions (for example, I might add "OK, let's go for 2 minutes in a seated climb, intensity level is 8/10, nice and slow and steady - GO!")

Other members may want to show off their knowledge and give a very specific idea ("Fast, seated flat with a strong headwind.") I might add: "Let's go for this entire song. Lower that chest, keep the elbows in...GO FOR IT! Etc..."

I have done this class about 5 times over the last 2 years, and the members seem to have a great time. It's spontaneous and lots of fun!

Good luck and thanks for the awesome ideas!
