Double Step! Double Fun!
This is a
Double Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 13138)
I use these same moves when I teach double step once a month. The
newcomers find it challenging and the regulars love the workout!
Use 2 steps, vertical, 3 feet apart.
Combo 1: (Starts between the steps)
- 3 Single kicks on home step (step up with left, kick with right) (1-12)
- Over the top (13-16)
- 4 Turnsteps (17-32)
- Indecision 3 times (1-24) (you will end up between the steps)
- Shoot the Loop (15-32) (turnstep on home step with left lead--then
do a turnstep on the neighbor step with a left lead--this will put
you right next to your neighbor step)
Repeat this on the neighbor step with opposite lead.
Combo 2: (also starts between steps)
- Over the top 2 times (1-8)
- Shoot the loop (9-16)
Repeat this on neighbor step
I do this a few times for some fun movement and a brain break!
Combo 3:
(starts on left side of home step--I just cheat a little to get
there--like over the top and tap up a few times until the music is at
the top of the phrase or have them take a break and come back and start
here)
- A. Hop turn right foot (1-4)
- Turnstep (right lead) (5-8)
- Diagonal step on neighbor step (9-12)
- Single taps moving back 2 times (13-16)
- L-step (off back and then off side) (17--24)
- Indecision (25--32)
- B. Two knee repeater(left lead) (1--6)
- One jack (7-8)
- One single knee lift (9-12)
- Turnstep (left lead) (13-16)
- Two knee repeater (right lead) (17-22)
- One jack (23-24)
- One single knee lift (25-28)
- Turnstep (right lead)(28-32)
Now you are ready to start the whole thing over on the outside of
your neighbor step with opposite lead!
Combo 4 (Start on outside of home step)
- A. Hop turn on right foot landing in a double knee repeater (1-8)
- Over the top (9-12)
- Turnstep (13-16)
- B. One single kick (step on right, kick with left) (17-20)
- L-step off the front of the step (land facing east) (21-24)
- Across the top (25-28)
- L-step off right side (land facing front of room) (29-32)
- One single kick (left lead) (1-4)
- L-step off front (land facing west) (5-8)
- Across the top (9-12)
- L-step off the left side (facing front again)(13-16)
- Indecision on home step (17-24)
- Indecision on neighbor step (18--32)
Now you are ready to start this over on outside of neighbor step with
opposite lead!
This usually takes a whole hour to teach and they get a great workout
at the same time! It is so fun to do it a couple of times all the
way through after everyone knows the combos!
