Three For All (Sonia's #33)

This is a Step pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 13184)

These are 3 combos that can be taught on the horizontal step, then converted to double step in a 7 shape, and then converted one more time to the vertical step! The steps are easy to teach and once they learn on the horizontal step changing them to double or vertical keeps the combos fresh without overwhelming less adept steppers. If your class is more advanced you could use two of the styles in the same class - or, even do all three. All combos are 32 count, self-reversing and tapless. Written with right lead.

Horizontal:

Combo 1

Repeat with a left lead or go to combo 2.

Combo 2

Repeat with a left lead or go to combo 3.

Combo 3

Note 1: The first V is to the step, the second V is to the right wall, the third V is to the back of the room, and the fourth V is to the wall to your right again - so you do a V to each wall. As you exit the V, which would be counts 3/4, you do a quarter turn. This makes a circle in the lead direction.

Note 2: As you do the first mambo cha cha cha turn away from the step, on the second mambo cha turn back to the step. Repeat again for counts 25 - 32.

7-Shape Double Step:
Home step is horizontal (in front of you), away step is vertical (to your right). The corners should be touching.

   ********
   ********
    Home **
           **
           **
           **
      Away **

Combo 1

Repeat with a left lead beginning on the away step.

Combo 2

Repeat with a left lead beginning on the away step.

Combo 3

Repeat with a left lead beginning on the away step.

Notes: When you move from one step to the other make your turns inward so that you can see the spot where the two corners meet.

I give the option of keeping all the V-steps on one step as well as keeping all the mambos on one step.

You can also weave these combos once they are comfortable moving from step to step.

Vertical (begin with a right lead on the left side of the step):

     Top/North/Front
        ******
        ******
        ******
  Left ****** Right
 Start ******
        ******
         Back

Combo 1

Repeat with a left lead on the right side.

Combo 2

Repeat with a left lead on the right side.

Combo 3

Repeat with a left lead on the right side.

Note 1: (1,2) step up right and left, (3,4) straddle down right and left, (5,6) step up right and left, (7,8) step off the back end right and left. For more intensity: (1,2) step up right/left, (3,4) straddle down right/left, (5) hop both feet up, (6) lift the right knee, (7,8) step off the back end right/left.

Note 2: On count 6 of the rocking horse give a little hop on the right foot as you swing the left leg behind the right leg, (7,8) left foot down on the right side, right foot down on the right side. OPTION for this would be to end the rocking horse in a straddle.

Again, you can weave these once they are comfortable! May also do all Vs as hanging (1,2 step one foot forward on the step and one foot forward on the floor, 3,4 step back right and left to the floor) and all mambos without the cha cha cha turns.

I hope you get some mileage out of these. Let me know if you try this in your class. My group really enjoyed this. As usual, email any questions or comments. I love to hear from you!
