The Mambo King
This is a
Step pattern from

- Right "3"-point mambo (6) (explanation below)
- Cha-cha or step-ball-change (2)
- Left 1/2 an L-step (exit right) (4)
- Left stomp and clap (on end of step) (4)
- (On floor) Left mambo, 1/2 turn, right mambo, 1/2 turn (8)
- Left hop 1/2 turn across-the-top (4) (facing back wall)
- Left U-turn (on end of step) (4)
- (On end of step) Place right foot on step, tap left foot up (2)
- Step left foot back down on floor, cross the right leg in front of the left foot (2)
- Step left foot out into a squat and hold (2)
- 2 Hops (2) (bring feet together)
- Right walk around the front of the step and continue until you're at the back of the step, facing front. Hop
feet together on counts "7" and "8" (8)
- Left knee on left corner, right knee on right corner (8)
- Left repeater knee (8)
Repeat with left "3"-point mambo...
"3"-Point mambo: standing on the floor, facing the front wall. Tap the right foot on the step, tap the right foot
out to the right side on the floor, tap the right foot behind.
How I break-it-down... right mambo on the floor then add-in the "3" points, followed by the cha-cha. The cha-cha
changes the lead foot. Practice the mambo and "3" points with the left foot.
"Hop 1/2 turn across the top": walk 4 counts around the front of the step followed by the U-turn.
