Be like Britney
This is a
Funk pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 13722)
- Roll the right knee in (1)
- Roll the right knee out (2)
- Shift your left hip to the left and bring left hand above the head (3)
- Step right leg behind the left and clasp hands above head (4)
- Do a plie (5)
- Return from plie and lift right knee (6)
- Step out with the right knee (7)
- Jump together (8)
- Jump out, jump in, jump out (1, 2, 3)
- Step forward on right (4)
- Push right arm across the chest and bend knees (5)
- Step around to face the right by pulling right arm around to right and stepping right foot behind
the left and turning the left foot to face the right (6)
- Pick up the right leg and then step it forward then hold (& 7, 8)
- Turn back to left to face front again (1)
- Bring right leg to left leg (2)
- Then take right leg back out to shoulder width (3)
- Plie and return (4)
- Pump arms up, do this twice on individual counts (palms facing up elbows next to body) (5, 6)
- Now pump arms more rapidly for the counts (7 & 8)
This can be added to any other combinations you already have. I prefer to tach my funk classes in more
of a street dance way teaching a combination and then having small groups perform it for the class at
the end of the session. The class seems to enjoy this more and they feel like they are really dancing.
