Nanc's Double Block Combo (2)

This is a BoxAerobics pattern from (pattern 14253)

The double block is similar to the single round block, but you use both arms instead of just one. Start in a square boxing stance, with fists up in front under the chin. Bring both fists down and then cross them in the middle and quickly bring them both back out, simulating a block of a punch or kick to the upper body.

The combination goes like this: 2 double round blocks with a round kick left and a cross strike left. Then, start it right: 2 double round blocks, round kick right, cross strike right.

Okay, you repeat that alternating combination 8-12 times, and then add to it to see if your class can take the challenge of 8 more counts. Here we go: 2 double round blocks, round kick left, cross strike left, 2 jab-punches (left-right-left-right), front snap kick left, jump kick left. Then, you cue the 2 double round blocks and let them know you're going to start the round kick right now.

If it is too much for the class, just continue the 16 counts, beginning each with the round kick left after the double round blocks. That way, they know they are going to repeat the same 16 counts each and every time. Alternating it could definitely confuse some of them, and usually, if I have a new participant, I don't alternate the combinations.

Remember to offer 2 front snap kicks instead of a front snap and a jump kick for a low impact alternative.

This one is fun, and after repeating it several times, I just have my class do the double round blocks for about 32 or 64 counts, and it is great for the biceps, upper back, delts, and pecs. Enjoy, and let me know if you have any questions.
