This is an Aquatic pattern from (pattern 14266)

Pile up water dumbells in the corners or sides of your area of the pool. I usually use about 8 dumbells in each pile. At the end of our cardio for another good "push" I assign one to two people to a pile of bells.

The teams then have about 5 minutes to go and steal from the other groups and return it to their home pile. If you get tagged or touched by an opponent when you are moving a dumbell, you must stop and do 10 frog jumps in place. If one of your teammates is guarding, he/she must be at least 6 feet from the pile. I allow them to pass to each other mid pool and let me tell you this brings out the "REAL" competitors in my group. I've never seen 60 and 70 year olds working so hard. The team with the most dumbbells wins of course. They go for the gold and they don't even realize how hard they're working until they stop. It's all about speed and a little bit about strategy!

I know your classes will love this one especially if you have a few onery folks that are up for healthy competition. Try it and let me know how your classes like it. You can always adapt the rules for your group too.

Enjoy, Heather
