Lethal Leslie #23

This is a Step pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 14793)

There's not much to do at work right now, so I thought I would post some combos. Hope you enjoy & can use them. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

Combo #1

*Repeat 2 job over: you repeat 2 at the left corner then you jog over the right corner of the step, you are now facing the back. Repeat 2 at left corner (1-4), left foot on floor (5), right foot to floor at right corner of the step, you should be facing the right wall (6), left foot to the floor on north side of the step (you should now be straddling the step) (7), right foot on the floor on the north side of the step facing the back (8)

*Weave & mambo (6): facing the right wall, left foot leads. Left foot to the step (1), hop on the left foot while bringing the right leg behind the left leg, while turning slightly to face the front (2), exit right towards back of room (3), left foot to floor (mambo) and right foot lifts (4), right foot back in place and left foot lifts slightly turning to face the front (5), left foot on the floor at the south west corner of the step facing the step and right foot is up (6)

Combo #2

*2 Fly knees : this is just two alternating knee lifts but you add power and travel the length of the step. Emphasize the power. Just tell them to fly!

*Shuffle forward & box to front of room & one stomp : the shuffle is on the step by the way, like the start of a shuffle turnstep, assuming a right lead here, shuffle forward (1&2), left foot crosses over the right foot and ends up on the north side of the step on the floor (3), right foot to the floor out wide and body is slightly turning over the left shoulder (4), left foot to floor at left corner, facing the back (5), right foot stomps the left corner of the step & left foot lifts slightly (6), left foot to floor in place (7), right foot to floor closer to right corner & left foot is lifted (8). After the shuffle forward on the step, the left leg should already be in the air ready to do the box step over the step.

*Get up get down : it's just coming up and lunging for two. But before you do this you are facing the back and you have to get home. So, left foot to right corner (1), right foot up like the start of a reverse turn but you feet aren't as wide (2), you should now be facing the front again, lunge 2 to home and exit home (3-8)

Combo #3

*Right skate 2 pivot right & weave (10): so you skate 2 (4), right foot should be in the air, right foot down on top of step at right corner (5), now left ham up hopping on right foot while turning to face the right wall (this is the pivot part) (6), left foot taps the floor (7), hop on right foot again while left leg comes behind (8) (the weave part, some call it scissor), exit left right on the south side of the step facing the right wall (9,10)

Combo #4

*Stomp the ends left & right exit back left right : so after the reverse skate 2 you should be facing the front with your left foot in the air, stomp the floor at the left end of the step, right foot lifts slightly (1), right foot on the step & left foot lifts (2), left foot to the step & right is up (3) (you are moving towards the right end of the step), the left foot should now be in the middle of the step, right foot stomps the floor at the right end of the step & left is lifted slightly (4), left foot back to the step & right is up (5), right foot on the step & left lifts (6), exit back left right (7,8), you can do a box step on counts 5,6 and then exit, you can also do a box step going across the step on count 2,3 and the 4th is stomping off the end. Just an option, obviously.

Combo #5

*Boomerang : assuming a right lead facing the left wall, up on top right left (1,2), right foot taps the floor on the north side of the step (3), right foot back to the step & left lifts off (4), left foot taps the floor on south side of step (5), left foot to the step at the east corner of the step, (6) you should now be facing the back of the room, right foot to the floor facing the east wall (7), left foot to the floor a little wider than the right foot, should now be facing front (8). Curtosy of Patrick Goudeau.

Combo #6

*Double Elvis/corkscrew (12) : I start out with a repeater 2 to each corner & tell them to stay with that if they don't like the double Elvis. Then if they have the double Elvis I'll change it to corkscrew. Not many can get the corkscrew for some reason. The instructors do, and a few members who have been around for a while do too. Anyways. Double Elvis first : right lead at left corner, right foot on top of step at left corner (1) & left foot lifts, left foot stomps the floor at the left end of the step (2), right knee turns in while keeping the right foot on the step (3), right foot stomps the step & left foot lifts (4), left foot to floor on south side & right foot to floor beside it (5,6), now repeat the same thing with the left foot for the other 6 counts, hence double Elvis. Now for the corkscrew : assuming right lead at left corner, right foot on top at left corner & left foot lifts (1), left foot to floor at left end of step & right foot lifts slightly (2), right foot stomps step again & left foot lifts (3), left foot to the floor on north side of the step slightly turning over the left shoulder, turning IN towards your step (4), right foot to floor on north side of step, turning to face the back (5), left foot to floor on north side of step closer to east wall (6), repeat those 6 counts again so you end up facing the front again.

An option for the abduct repeat 2, is to add a tic toc in there, so it would be one abduct & tic toc on counts 3,4. I also like to give them the option of coming off the front of the step after the first set of repeater 2 & then exit of the back after the second repeater 2.

Combo #7

*6 Point reverse & chasse : it's a 6 point reverse turn and instead of marching the last 2 counts, you just shuffle to the left corner. Left foot to right corner, right foot to left corner (2), you are now facing the back, left foot to floor at left corner and right foot lifts at same time (3), right foot back on top and left foot lifts (4), left foot at right corner (5), right foot to floor at right corner slightly turning to face the front (6), chasse to left corner 7 & 8.

Repeat in-out-in : this is on the end of the step, left corner, right foot on step (1), left knee up (2), left foot touches floor close to step (3), left foot touches floor away from step (4), left foot touches floor close to step again (5), left knee up (6), exit back left-right (7,8). On counts 3,4,5 you are bouncing a little.
