Double Dippin
This is a
Double Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 14070)
Hello all, here is another double step pattern! It is easy enough to teach those who have never transferred to
another bench before.
Pattern first, explanations follow. Benches horizontal, side by side
- Kick travel on floor, (centering the 2 benches)
- Kick travel on left bench only
- Kick travel on floor
- Kick travel on right bench only
- Kick travel on floor
- Kick 1X on left bench-travel
- Kick 1X on right bench
- (repeat if you like)
- Rocking horse (8 count) on left bench
- Revolving A-step (right door) on right bench
- 2 Basics L-step
- 1 Indecision lunge (8 count)
- L-step 1X
- 1/2 L-step back between benches
- 2 Basics right step
- 1 Indecision lunge*
- Knee travel (1 knee on left step, 1 on right step)
- Around the world knees using both benches*
- Knee travel and add repeaters if necessary to get you to the opposite bench than you started...I take out the
knee travel and go right into around the world when they get used to it, that takes you to a repeater to finish
the phrase and begin on right bench as home.
*I take out the basic steps and just do indecisions once they get used to the previous step, compensating for count
at the end by adding extra knees or repeaters
**When cueing, I find it interesting the number of students who do not understand "straddle travel" and often
use "straddle turn around straddle" instead. You can really cover a lot of ground with this move.
***I am assuming you are on the left bench after that kick travel on the floor at the beginning. It should be
natural to lead with the right foot on the left bench....
PLEASE let me know if this is confusing! I always appreciate those who email with positive/negative feedback.
Thank you turnstep for this opportunity to share!!!
Happy Teaching:)
