Shellie's Double Dose of Double Step! (vertical)
This is a
Double Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 14140)
Note: intermediate to advanced choreography
Important: Begin routine OUTSIDE of HOME. The step to the far right is AWAY. The space between AWAY and HOME is INSIDE. Arrange steps vertically, 3 to 5 feet apart. See diagram below:
[H] [A]
[O] [W]
[M] [A]
[E] [Y]
YOU [ ] [ ]
** DON'T FORGET TO HAVE FUN! **
Combo 1 (32 count)
- Outside HOME: 2 tap ups; over-top-top (16)
- Outside AWAY: 2 turnsteps; diagonal - GO HOME (12)
- Inside HOME: hop turn (4)
- Outside HOME: repeat - other leg leads (facing back)
- Notes: over top-top = over the top HOME; down-down; over the top AWAY (tapless on the inside)
Combo 2 (64 count - tapless until "over the top")
- Outside HOME: repeater ham wrap - GO AWAY (8)
- Inside AWAY: repeater ham wrap; straddle (8)
- Inside AWAY: repeater side leg - GO HOME (8)*
- Inside HOME: repeater side leg - GO AWAY (8)*
- Inside AWAY: 4 knee straddles (16)*
- Inside AWAY: mambo (4)
- Inside AWAY: inside turnstep - GO HOME (4)
- Inside HOME: inside turnstep - GO AWAY (4)
- Inside AWAY: over the top - tap down (4)
- Outside AWAY: repeat - other leg leads
Notes: repeater ham wrap = easier cue name for repeater leg curl around end. Inside turnstep = begin regular
turnstep; come down-down to transition to next step (do not tap down); repeat process ending on step that started.
Combo 3 (64 count - tapless)
- Outside HOME: 2 traveling kicks; up & lunge 2; exit - GO AWAY (16)
- Inside AWAY: 1/2 L-step; across top; 1/2 L-step back (12)
- Inside turnstep - GO HOME (4)
- Inside HOME: 1/2 L-step; across top; 1/2 L-step back (12)
- Inside turnstep - GO AWAY (4)
- Inside AWAY: 2 straddle steps; double kick, walk behind (16)
- Outside AWAY: repeat other leg leads
FYI: For your advanced step class, cue COMBOS 1-3 without repeating*, you will end on the left. Then repeat
COMBOS 1-3 left lead, you will end on the right. (* = EXCEPTION: repeat the lines with the asterick. That way,
you will complete 3-64 counts, ending on a strong down beat)
