Bag Work #1
This is a
BoxAerobics pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 14358)
We use a kickboxing bag in our classes; however you can incorporate combos without the bag. Start with right stance toward the bag
- Right jab 1x, left cross 1x, right hook 1x, left uppercut 1x
- Two right front kicks
Repeat several times, then switch to left lead. I usually transition with jumping jacks or slips (I usually start slow and then speed up to an one 8 count. You can also change kicks to roundhouse or side kick)
Right side facing bag:
- Jab (1), squat jab (2) repeat several times
- Add a hop coming out of the squat into the jab (if desired)
- Still adding on...
- Jab squat jab, cross
- 2 Side or roundhouse kicks right
Repeat several times then repeat left, transition with front kicks, may add a front kick lunge back
Right side facing bag:
- Right jab left, cross at tempo making sure left foot turns toward bag on the cross
- After repeating several times face the bag and jab (left) with a lunge. Count one is jab at top of lunge count two is jab at bottom (right foot forward left back, make sure you cue that knee stays behind toe on right foot)
- May also make this move polymetric by adding a hop as you come out of the lunge
Repeat several times then switch to left lead
Right stance toward bag:
- Right roundhouse kick step right foot down and squat out with left lead
I usually repeat for 1-2 minutes depending on how many single roundhouse kicks we have done.
Repeat left leg. May also change after one minute to side kicks
If you have any questions please email me. I have several more combos but no more time right now to submit them. Please keep the kickboxing routines coming it gets hard to be creative!!
