Repeating Noodle Routine

Hi! I love all of the ideas that have been shared. Sometimes I do almost a complete class with noodles.

I start out with an easy move, like jog and push and pull the noodle. It is important to pick a relatively simple move first because the first movement will be the move you do most. Then after a minute, I add another move like half jacks for a minute. Then back to to jog and push and pull for a minute. Then we go back to half jacks for a minute, then add a new move on-- kick your rear with forward presses for a minute. I generally try to increase level of difficulty as we add new movements on.

Depending on the class, we do each move for 60-120 seconds each. A movement series might go like this:

  1. 1. Jog and push and pull noodle
  2. 2. Half jacks
  1. 1. Jog and push and pull
  2. 2. Half jacks
  3. 3. Alternating hamstring curls and forward presses with the noodle
  1. 1. Jog and push and pull
  2. 2. Half jacks
  3. 3. Alternating hamstring curls and forward presses
  4. 4. Baby forward kicks (emphasis on bringing leg back in towards the body)
  1. 1. Jog and push and pull
  2. 2. Half jacks
  3. 3. Alternating hamstring curls and forward presses
  4. 4. Baby forward kicks (emphasis on bringing leg back in towards the body)
  5. 5. Straight legged kicks behind
  1. 1. Jog and push and pull
  2. 2. Half jacks
  3. 3. Alternating hamstring curls and forward presses
  4. 4. Baby forward kicks (emphasis on bringing leg back in towards the body)
  5. 5. Straight legged kicks behind
  6. 6. Tick Tock (legs shoulder width apart, hopping from foot to foot, pulling noodle down into the water ~ie. weight on left foot, left hand pulls noodle down, right foot off pool bottom and then switch)

You can add tons other movements like tucks, scissor jacks, jump and twist, jog and fold noodle, pendulum...
