Easy to teach, High Intensity Step Class

Hi There!

I just wanted to post this class that I used today because this website has been a big help to me and for this particular class I used a couple combos from here, re-arranging them to suit my class, which has different ability levels but people really want to have a good workout. It's easy to teach and easy to follow combinations that have lots of high intensity options to make it good for classes of different levels.

The easier and start of the combo is written first with intensity options following the dashes. I like to start easy and add options while we're still breaking down the combo.

Combo one: (32- counts)

Now left lead

Combo two: (64 counts)

Now left lead

I then combine combos one and two a few times and follow that by a one-minute interval of anything you want that's challenging. I did toe taps, straddling the board and increasing the speed so they're jumping.

Combo three: (32-counts)

Now do left leg lead with kicks facing the east corner and hop overs facing east

Combo four: (32-counts)

Now left lead

I then combine combos three and four a couple of times and then do a one-minute interval of lunges off the step. If people caught on very quickly, which usually happens cause they're very easy to break down you can go through all four combos a couple times and you have a high intensity 45-minute class. I end with some sculpting exercise and abs usually involving mostly core stability.

Thanks for all the help and especially to the originators of some of this stuff. I would also love more ideas of easy to break down but intense classes.
