Candy's A little Different Double
This is a
Double Step pattern from

In this combination you will spend a lot of time in between the steps. Before we got started, I had my class get in between facing the small end of either H or A, and do several basics steps to make sure they had clearance behind them. I want them to be comfortable and not worry about clipping their heals. (I had about 4 feet between mine if that helps). I am cueing in between the steps as the 'middle'.
Combo 1:
- Horseshoe, switch to A (8 count)
- Reverse knee pivot stepping down down in middle (4 count) (up right, left knee up and pivot to face front, stepping down left, right in middle)
- Mambo on floor with left, or optional pivot turns on floor or H, then A-step (4 count)
- Up up, on H, facing front with left, right, lunge x 3 left, right, left (8 count)
- Down, down, right, left, double knee, switch to A (8 count)
Repeat left lead on Away totals 32 counts.
Combo 2:
- Turnover and switch to small end of A (you will be in middle facing small end of A) (4 count)
- Basic on small end of A (4 count)
- Walk straddle, knee behind step down down left, right (8 count)
- Knee on A, switch to H (4 count)
- Reverse loops in middle H, A (8 count)
- Step Kick on H, switch to A (4 count)
Repeat left lead on Away totals 32 counts.
Combo 3:
- L-step, slide to middle stepping down down (8 count)
- Samba on A, H, step up,up right, left, on A while turning to face middle - I cued this 'up and turn' (8 count)
- Lunge x 3 backing up stepping down down left, right, off right small end of A (8 count)
- (xxxx xxxx. now you are here facing left wall)
- L-step, turn over (8 count)
Repeat left lead on Away totals 32 counts.
Combo 4:
- Diagonal, over top, small turn, turn straddle (16 count)
- (this is all done on H)
- Knee off small end (you are in middle again) (4 count)
- Pivot turn, immediately up, up right, left on A (4 count)
- (this is all done in middle, end up facing A on small end)
- Straddle, squat up, standing up for 3 counts, exit right. (8 count)
- (From straddle, hop on top in a squat, then rise up slowly. I cue this "squat 2,3,4", then exit to right.)
Repeat left lead on Away totals 32 counts.
