Follow The Yellow Brick Road
This is a
Cycling pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 15133)
I call this class a "theme class". I recorded my own cd and used the original movie soundtrack of the Wizard of OZ to dubed-in parts at appropriate times. This class can be a great change of pace and fun for members (and instructors as well).
- 1. Warm-up flat / Movie overture
- 2. Spin-ups (increase rpm) / song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"
- 3. Spin-ups into sprint / "house guests" "It's a twister!"
- 4. Lifts/ Munchkin Land "Ding dong the witch is dead" (lifting over the munchkins)
- 5. Easy climb / "Follow the yellow brick road" "Wish I had a heart" "If I only had a brain"
- 6. Explosions (standing stop into sprint) / "Lions, and Tigers and bears,""courage".
- 7. Tempo-flat / Merry land of OZ, Audience with wizard, witch captures Dorthy
- 8. Climb with surges (increasing rpm) / Climbing castle of wicked witch, "Oh-de-oh,etc." melting of witch "I'm melting..."
- 9. Team sprints / Return to Wizard
- 10. Cool-down, flat / Farewell to OZ "There's no place like home"
Record your music first then dub in the movie sound effect.
