Candy's Double with Partners
This is a
Double Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 15367)
X X Partners start facing each other. Your bench is Home.
X X Their bench is Away. All combos repeat on Away.
.X X. Remember some backs will be to you, so be sure to put
X X newer members in your position so it's easier for
X X them to follow.
Combo 1:
- Knee/tap over repeater (12 count) (step right, knee left, down left, right taps over. Equals 4 counts. Do whole thing 3 x's.)
- Over top and switch to Away (4 count) (you will be in between benches on Away, backs to partners)
- Hop turn/lunge x 2/straddle (8 count)
- Hop turn/lunge x 2 exit outside of Away, tap down (8 count)
Repeat left lead on away, totals 32 counts
Combo 2:
- 3 X Curls on top, exit down, down (8 count)
- Samba to corners left, right (6 count)
- L-step, shuffle on floor to Away (8 count) (shuffle with backs to benches to outside corner of Away)
- Reverse turn/mambo back/turnstep/mambo back/reverse turn (10 count) (up right, left with a reverse turn (1,2), right mambos back while left slightly lift (3), up left, right like a turnstep (4,5) left mambos back while right slightly lifts (6 count), up right, left with a reverse turn (7,8), right down, left taps (9,10).
Repeat left lead on away, totals 32 counts
Tip: my group is familiar with a turnstep/mambo back or a turnstep/rock back. Start with this, then add in the reverse turns with the mambo back. Remember you don't have to reverse the turns. A regular small turn will do the same.
Combo 3:
- Turnover (stay on Home) (4 count) (this puts you in between facing partner)
- Knee bench to bench - Home, Away (8 count)
- Stuck in the middle (8 count) (turnstep switch, turnstep switch, end up where you started)
- Power tap on Home, switch to Away (4 count)
- Up and turn on Away, lunge x 2 exit down down (8 count) (up left, right (1,2) this puts you facing partner, lunge back
left, right (3-6), down left, right (7,8)
Repeat left lead on away, totals 32 counts
Combo 4:
- Turnstraddle, knee off small end/ lunge back (8 count) (this is old school except the right foot lunges back at the end on count 8)
- Walk straddle, turnover (8 count)
- L-step, squat jump to Away (8 count) (You can 'old school' this one by 'walking' to your away bench. The squat jump just adds intensity)
- Up and turn/ straddle down, over top tap down (8 count) (this winds up being a 1/4 turn to left while stepping up right, left on the small end of Away, straddle down, then over the top and tap down with left)
Repeat left lead on away, totals 32 counts.
