Funky Abs!
This is an
Abs pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 15375)
I am always looking for new abdominal exercises for my core classes - I tried this one and my class loved it!!
- Start sitting up nice and tall, straight line from the top of the head down to the tailbone. Heels are digging into the ground with a slight bend in the knees. Arms are straight out in front of the chest, palms up.
- Using the music (around 128 BPM), pulse the shoulders back in a count of four (right-left-right-left) as you start to lower the upper body to the ground, keeping the back straight and the abs engaged.
- Hold and pulse straight for a count of 3.
- Repeat shoulder pulse while lowering the upper body closer to the mat. Important: Back must stay nice and straight, keep those abs engaged!!!
- Hold and pulse for a count of 3.
- Pull the belly button towards the spine and roll the rest of the way down to the mat.
- Reach hands towards hips (still have that slight bend in the knees), walk those hands up until you are sitting up nice and tall again.
- Repeat.
Let me know what you think!!
