A Little Latin Aqua
This is an
Aquatic pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 15378)
Looking to "spice" up your aquatic class? If you are lucky enough to be able to use music this would work with any Latin music, but if your pool is like mine and music not a real option, your students will still feel the call of Latin!
Combo I
- Jog forward 6 counts starting on right (right, left, right, left, right, left)
- Step in place counts 7&8 (right/left/right) This is your basic cha cha cha step.
- Reverse entire combination going back starting on your left foot
- Repeat all again front and back
- 4 Jumping jacks in place turning 1/4 turn to the right on last jack.
- Begin entire combination from the top but this time start on your left foot forward and back on your right
- Repeat entire combination again beginning on the right / repeat 4th time beginning on the left
Combo II
- Step right to right, close left next to right, repeat 2x more, cha cha cha in place. Repeat all to left.
- Repeat right and left
- Grapevine right (side, back ,side front, side back, cha cha cha)
- Reverse
- Repeat right and left
- "V" step (stepping wide forward right/left - stepping back feet coming together right/left) Repeat 2x more (front, front, back, back) cha cha cha in place (right, left, right)
- Repeat "V" step beginning on left.
- Repeat "V" step combination from the top
- Repeat entire combination
Combo III
- Rocking horse forward on right, close right next to left (rocking horse, close) / repeat on left
- Repeat on right, pivot turn (left/right) to face back of pool, cha cha cha in place.
- Repeat all facing back of pool - end facing front again after doing the pivot turn.
- Ski 3's (right, left, right) reverse, repeat starting right, jump turning 1/4 turn to right
- Repeat all of above starting rocking horse on left.
- After 1/4 turn start combo on right again / after last 1/4 turn start combo on left.
You can then repeat the entire routine making changes to increase intensity if desired, etc.
Have fun and bring a little attitude into your class - Latin is hot!
P.S. After bringing the intensity up last during repeat of the combination I say something like, "hear that sizzle? that's fat burning off". It usually gets a laugh!
