Candy's Front/Back Double Step
This is a
Double Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 15539)
XXXXXX H You can set up like this or by yourself. If you have
. a big class, just keep adding on to the end of the
XXXXXX A/H line. Be sure the last person has an Away step.

Combo 1:
- Basic x 2 (8 count)
- 6 Count wide step (8 count) (My terminology...hop up wide 1-2, hop in halfway & squat halfway 3-4, hop in all the way & full squat 5-6, exit right,left 7-8)
- Fake over Home & Away (12 count) (Again, my terminology... slight turn to left wall, step up on Home right,left 1-2, right taps floor & back to step 3-4, exit left,right & switch to Away 5-6, up on Away left,right 7-8, left taps floor & back to step 9-10, exit right,left back to Home 11-12.)
- Pivot, together, hop (4 count) right pivots on Home, left lifts slightly, 1-2, right comes together with left on floor while facing Away, 3, hop on floor on 4. Once they get the hang of it, I just cued "Pivot & Hop". Totals 32 counts
Repeat left lead facing Away
Combo 2:
- L-step, slide across Home (8 count)
- Reverse knee and switch to Away (4 count)
- L-step on Away (4 count) (Will now be on far right end of Away step facing the back of the gym.)
- Slide across Away (4 count)
- Knee around corner of Away (4 count)
- Turnstep, over top of Away ONLY. (8 count) Totals 32 counts
Repeat left lead facing Away
Combo 3:
- Double knee Home & Away (12 count)
- Up and turn, lunge x 2 (8 count) (up on Home right,left while turning to face the back,1-2, lunge x 2 right,left 3-6, exit right, left 7-8. you are now in "Front yard" of Home still facing the back.
- Power tap corner to corner (8 count)
- Hop turn over Home & switch to Away. (4 count) totals 32 counts
Repeat left lead facing Away
Combo 4:
- Stuck in the middle (8 count) (Again, my terminoligy... turnstep on Home, switch to Away, turnstep on Away & switch back to Home.)
- Samba x 3 (9 count) (This is going to throw you off beat while building....like a mambo minus the step back. right on Home left lifts slightly, & back to floor 1-2, right to floor 3, left on Away, right lifts slightly & back to floor 4-5, left to floor 6, right on Home, lifts slightly, & back to floor 7-8, right to floor 9)
- 7 Count turnstep on Away (I've seen this called a hesitation, but you are going to omit the hop wich makes it a true 7 count and go directly to Home)
- Knee behind you on Home, walk backward 4 counts to Away. (8 count)
Totals 32 count, repeat left lead facing Away
