7-Up aka Double L (Sonia's #40)
This is a
Double Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 14826)
Steps are in a 7-shape or upside down 'L'. The horizontal step is home (H), the vertical step is away (A). When you turn from step to step turn IN so that you see where the steps come together. Each move is preceeded by the lead foot. Combos are tapless, 32 count, self-reversing.
Combo 1
- Right, T-step or I-step (H) (8)
- Right, Tap 'n' clap repeater (H) (8)
- Left, Abductor (A) (4)
- Right, Abductor (H) (4)
- Left, Mambo cha cha cha (A) the chas turns you to the home step (4)
- Right, Mambo cha cha cha (H) (4)
NOTE: Both mambos can be done on the away step with a left lead and no cha cha chas.
Repeat left, beginning on the away step.
Combo 2
- Right, V-steps around the world..., one V on home, one on away, one to the back wall, one to the wall on your right (16)
- Right, Glute squeeze (H) (4)
- Left, Glute squeeze (A) (4)
- Right, Repeater combo (H) (8)
Repeat left beginning on the away step.
Combo 3
- Right, Hamcurl (H) (4)
- Left, Hamcurl (A) (4)
- Right, Rocking horse (H) (8)
- Left, L-step (A) (8)
- Right, L-step (H) (8)
Repeat left beginning on the away step.
The more you use the outer ends of the step the more intense this is. They really have to travel. For students that need less intensity I tell them to stay closer to the inner corners (where the steps touch) or in the center of the step.
