Sonia's ABC's of Step (Routine JJ)

This is a Step pattern from (pattern 14837)

Basic, 32 count, tapless, self-reversing combinations for a horizontal step. This is a mix of basic and intermediate.

*Chasse turnsteps are just shuffle turns with the shuffle (triple step/cha cha cha) done on top of the step: (1&2) right, left, right on top of the step moving forward along the length, (3,4) step down left and right turning in toward the step to face the way you came. Shuffle turns keep one foot on the floor and one foot on the step during the triple step part. These are both substitutes for turnsteps.

**Knee freeze: (1,2) step up right, lift the left knee, (3,4,5,6) hold (freeze) the left knee lift and clap overhead 4x, (7,8) exit left and right on the home side. Here are some options on the "freeze" part of this move. Clap overhead on 3/4 then do two quick little flick kicks of the left foot on 5/ it's up, knee lift, clap clap, kick kick and exit left/right. Option 2: step up right, knee up left, turn the knee out/in/out/in, exit left/right. this move is great for incorporating some balance into your routine.

***Glutes around the world:
(1,2) step up right at the left corner, glute squeeze left
3,4) straddle down left and right facing west
5,6) step up left, glute squeeze right
7,8) step down right and left on the front side of the step facing back and turning to head for the opposite front corner (NE)
Repeat 1-8 facing east and moving back to the home side.
